I, Mary Horn am a Dominican Sister, one time primary teacher, now painter and organic gardener. Born in Waimate Aotearoa New Zealand in 1937, and professed in the New Zealand Dominican Congregation in 1959. I have lived and taught in a number of places in New Zealand and began painting in 1992 and have worked and lived at Teschemakers, North Otago, since then. This beautiful rural area not far from the sea with stunning views of mountains and limestone rock outcrops as well as market gardens on black soil inspires my painting.
