Ceramicist
I have been interested in making pottery, tutoring and collecting pottery all my adult life.
I learned to pot over 35 years ago at night school, going on to establish a studio at home and become an active member of Ceramic 44 and later Pottery on Tyne.
I left potting for a few years when I trained to be a florist, owning The Florist here in Oamaru.
I enjoy making domestic ware as well as quirky hand made pieces.
I particularly enjoy the process of Raku firing and making my own glazes. I love the challenge of entering exhibitions as they make me experiment with different ideas.
I have exhibited locally and in Dunedin and Christchurch and am delighted to have a salt glazed teapot in the Otago Museum collection.
I feel very lucky to be able to do something I am passionate about.
