Trug Maker 

Raised on a farm at Kauru Hill and at the fishing village of Moeraki, I am a long time resident of the seaside village of Kakanui and a passionate advocate for the physical and social landscape of the Waitaki area.

My passion is making useful, good looking stuff with my own hands. 

I produce traditional English style trug baskets and all manner of rustic wooden products using traditional tools such as drawknives, shaving knives, shaving horses, side axes and pole lathes. 

I work from a historic Red Shed at the Oamaru Harbour, and grow or coppice much of the wood I use in a sustainable wood lot.
